Rey – A King Doesn’t Compromise
The 1/10 scale Losi Rey radio control truck platform serves as the foundation for Losi® RC classics like the ready to run (RTR) Ford Raptor Baja Rey® 4WD desert truck and Hammer Rey™ 4WD U4 racer. It’s all about making NO compromises. It’s not too big but not too small. It’s fast but requires only one battery. The Rey literally combines everything that’s great about all other Losi remote control vehicle platforms into one!
Prior to the 1/10 scale Losi Rey, nearly every remote control vehicle amounted to a distinctive, nice-looking body shell with only a rather generic, one-size-fits-all RC chassis underneath. Losi stepped into the scale RC world with the Rey. The foundation of the Rey platform consists of a 3mm aluminum chassis plate with a 2.5mm upper deck. For added durability and performance, it’s integrated with a realistic roll cage made of super-tough composite material. Whether you’re hitting the whoops, getting huge air, or just running wide open, the Rey chassis keeps asking for more.
The Losi Rey has a real “live” axle with a triangulate 4-link rear suspension, and a rear suspension design that allows the Rey to soak up massive whoops and bumps with the same realistic handling and movement of a full-scale truck, for better control and a locked-in feel regardless of the terrain. Likewise, the long travel, fully independent A-arm front suspension has been carefully engineered to let the Rey rip confidently across the terrain, with each side reacting as needed for precise steering and handling control. Long-travel shocks do a fantastic job of soaking up the energy from big bumps and jumps. Threaded shock bodies with adjustment collars let you fine tune the pre-load settings of the coil-over springs. External bump stops provide plush landings on the hardest surfaces.
The Losi Rey platform’s single-speed transmission, as well as all three diffs, are sealed against the elements and engineered to handle punishing terrain and the high output of the included Spektrum™ brushless motor. MOD 1 gears further increase durability. The adjustability of three diffs lets you set your Rey to handle any track conditions. The open differential distributes power to the tires in a way that keeps you in tight control when turning.
You’ll be able to access the motor quickly and easily by simply removing three screws in the bottom of the chassis. That’s all it takes to perform gear changes and service the motor. The innovative, rear-loading battery feature lets you change the battery quickly and easily as well, and without having to remove the body.
In all versions of the 1/10 scale Losi Ford Raptor Baja Rey, the full roll cage, front and rear LED light bars, and even a full size spare tire have been reproduced with no compromising. Four-piece bolt-on body panels give the truck an authentic factory look with an officially licensed Ford trim scheme. These panels eliminate the need for body posts and are polycarbonate for incredible durability. The molded interior holds both a driver and rider figure, sporting racing helmet and harness details.
Bred for U4 racing, the 1/10 scale Hammer Rey is officially licensed and based off Casey Currie’s U4 Racer. Along with the officially licensed design, the Hammer Rey includes KMC wheels, Nitto tires, and additional details such as new shock reservoirs, fire extinguishers, and new light bars.
