Under the TLR® (Team Losi Racing®) brand, the Losi 8IGHT has established a lasting reputation as the definitive pro-level, race-ready 1/8 scale platform. The TLR 8IGHT has been tested and refined over time, building a championship winning heritage by capturing multiple national and international racing titles. The Losi remote control buggy and truggy versions take the lessons of this proven performer and use them well, in a somewhat simplified design that’s perfect for anyone eager to get started racing the right way in 1/8 scale.
The Losi 8IGHT platform makes winning TLR engineering more accessible and affordable for more racers. Thanks to its superior handling, low center of gravity, durable extended chassis, and ballistic speeds, the Losi 8IGHT has earned its drivers success and admiration at the track. The cost is only about 15-20% of what you’d pay for a fully loaded TLR 1/8 scale racing model. However, with this platform you still get competition-proven technology. And as you gain more racing experience and your skills grow, you can gradually upgrade your vehicle's performance to the highest level with many of the 8IGHT option parts currently available.
Both the nitro powered buggy and truggy versions of the Losi 1/8 scale 8IGHT platform are available fully assembled and equipped in the ready-to-run (RTR) completion level, putting you immediately on the fast track to competitive 1/8 scale racing. They include a powerful, pull-start Dynamite® .21 nitro engine that gives you the speed you need to be a front runner right out of the box. A reliable Spektrum™ SLR3000 receiver and strong S614 metal gear servo are also factory-installed on the chassis, and a Spektrum SLT™ 3-channel transmitter is included for confident control.
In addition to its 4mm T-6 aluminum chassis plate, the Losi 8IGHT platform of these 1/8 scale nitro off road vehicles has a Gen III radio tray that helps to prolong steering and throttle servo life with ball-bearing linkages, more accurate linkage alignment, and other advantages. It has been designed to resist wear and tear from chassis flex, too.
The suspension geometry is pre-set from the factory to match what professional team drivers use. That’s one more reason you can hit the track with confidence! Because the 1/8 scale Losi 8IGHT uses fixed-length turnbuckles and steering arms, you know it will remain consistent race to race. Other features include center and rear dogbones that eliminate the friction of a CV coupler and improve bump handling in the rear, and a metal-gear transmission and sealed differentials to give the 8IGHT all the durability it needs for long mains and rough racing conditions.
