Most Losi® radio control vehicles are standard 1/8 or 1/10 scale size. Mini RC cars and trucks lower costs but not performance. Large scale models increase realism and power.

When choosing the best Losi® RC vehicle for you, one major factor to consider is its size. Generally speaking, a radio control vehicle’s price is directly related to its overall size. You’ll usually find RC cars and trucks under $250 in the “Mini” size category, while those costing $700 and above are usually in the “Large” category. Those priced between $250-$700 are “Standard” size RC vehicles, the category that has the largest selection.
Besides the price, another way to determine the general size of a vehicle is by its scale. Most RC vehicles are 1/16, 1/10, 1/8, 1/6, or 1/5 scale. The bigger that bottom number is, the smaller the size, and vice-versa. One common mistake is assuming that all 1/10 scale RC cars are the same size. They are not.
How can two 1/10 scale RC vehicles differ in size? One reason is because of each vehicle’s real-life counterpart. Because a real monster truck and 1969 Camaro are different sizes in the real world, then a 1/10 version of each will be different in size as well.
The second reason is due to their platforms. The Losi V100 RC touring car platform under the 1969 Camaro body results in a true-to scale, 1/10 scale RC car when compared to a real 1969 Camaro. But the 22S platform under the 1969 Drag Camaro is based on a 1/10 scale buggy/stadium truck suspension. The 22S platform was not originally designed to be modeled after a real vehicle, but because it shares the same size electronics as the touring car, it was categorized as 1/10 scale RC car or truck.
In some instances, the scale of an RC vehicle is used primarily to determine the size of the electronics it will take. The best way to understand the size is by reviewing the specifications and using the compare feature on your favorite vehicles.
Now that you understand the sizes in RC, we can discuss some other points to consider when selecting your vehicle. One of those considerations is the batteries required. All of our “Mini” vehicles use the same battery, which is different from those needed to run “Standard” and “Large” vehicles. “Standard” and “Large” vehicles share the same battery size, but “Large” vehicles require two batteries in order to increase the voltage to provide sufficient power. “Standard” vehicles require only one battery, but there are some exceptions.
